The Park Slope Chamber of Commerce is pleased to act as a drop off and distribution site for the victims of Hurricane Sandy. There’s an effort underway to helo clean up Sheepshead Bay.
To donate food and flashlights to the Rockaway Waterfront Alliance, contact them at 917-975-5623. To help transport donated items to shelters in The Rockaways and South Brooklyn, contact councilmember Steve Levin’s office at 718-875-5200.
Over at Congregation Beth Elohim, they’re looking for volunteers to help prepare food to be brought to the armory. Candles, batteries, flashlights, water, and non-perishables for Red Hook shelters are also being collected there.
Prospect Park’s third annual Walk-a-Thon is Saturday at 9 AM. All funds raised will go towards repairing the park, which lost over 300 trees.

The Red Cross is also looking for volunteers.
